Tuesday, October 6, 2015

The Summit, in partnership with the Beard Center on Aging at Lynchburg College, and The Alzheimer’s Association of Central and Western Virginia, invite you to attend a community screening event of the critically acclaimed documentary, “Glen Campbell….I’ll Be Me.”

The event will be held on Friday, October 9th at Lynchburg College, Schewell Hall. A reception will be held at 5:30 p.m. with the screening beginning at 6:30 p.m. Suggested ticket price is $10 and will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.

American music icon Glen Campbell created hits like Rhinestone Cowboy, Wichita Lineman and Gentle on My Mind and was the winner of the Grammy for Lifetime Achievement and member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.

In 2011, Campbell was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Glen and his wife, Kim, made history by going public with the diagnosis and setting out on a “Goodbye Tour.” The film documents this amazing journey as he and his family attempt to navigate the wildly unpredictable nature of Glen's progressing disease using love, laughter and music as their medicine of choice.
