The Summit celebrates Independence Day in style

Sunday, July 2, 2017

Fireworks lit up a gorgeous July night as the Summit began a new tradition in the Wyndhurst community. Residents of the Summit graciously opened the north lawn for community members to enjoy the beautiful spectacle.

The celebration brought hundreds to Wyndhurst, enjoying local restaurants before the fireworks show. Advantage Club members joined residents for an exclusive deck party with popcorn, lemonade and Homestead Creamery ice cream.

Residents invited their friends and family, including some excited grandchildren, to gather on decks or in lawn chairs behind the main building. As evening turned to night, fireworks provided an array of colors to the delight of residents and neighbors across the campus.

On July 4, residents continued a wonderful tradition of decorating golf carts in red, white and blue and parading across the campus before enjoying wonderful lunch buffet prepared by Chef Julian Davis and his culinary team.

Just before entering the dining hall, resident Bill Hodges led the rest in several patriotic songs to set the mood for a wonderful day of celebration.
