The Summit Celebrates Sixteenth Anniversary

Great friends celebrated The Summit’s 16th anniversary in August with a special dinner.

A partnership between Centra and the Disciples of Christ, The Summit—a Life Plan Community—allows residents to relax in retirement, surrounded by wonderful neighbors.

Dana Thayer compares The Summit, with its daily activities and tremendous dining experience, to a cruise. “What could be better than life at The Summit? It’s like being on a cruise ship. The only difference is the port never changes.”

Virginia Marshburn, the first resident to move into The Summit, loves the maintenance-free living. “I just socialize and enjoy it.”

Lila Rosenthal, another 16-year resident, calls her experience “pure, charming, happy times.”

“The people that live here make it really special because it is a family,” she said.

Her neighbors echo the sentiment. “We’ve made numerous new friends and it’s just been a delight to be part of The Summit,” Hugh Bond said.

“This is the best place in the world. You can’t ask for nicer neighbors,” added Barbara Etherington.

Marshall Crews said he’s made lifelong friends at The Summit.

The biggest reason to celebrate the anniversary isn’t just friends, but family.

“We are a family here. The Summit family,” Bill Hadden said.
