Brunch Bunch: One of The Summit's Favorite Weekly Meals Keeps Getting Better

Thursday, December 20, 2018

The dining room—always a popular spot at The Summit—is particularly busy on Sundays when Chef Julian Davis and his staff prepare a brunch fit for a king or queen. “It’s definitely one of the most popular meals of the week,” said Celia Lloyd, Director of Dining Services at The Summit.

And why shouldn’t it be? Each week brings a roasted meat—beef, pork or turkey—served with potatoes, vegetables and of course, breakfast faire. Scrambled eggs—with an assortment of toppings—are shared with pancakes or waffles, sausage gravy and biscuits, pastries, fruit and a salad.

The staff also makes omelets to order. Wine and beer are also available for purchase. “Brunch is such a unique meal and our dining staff goes all out,” Celia said.

“We want every meal to be a wonderful experience.”

The state-of-the-art hot bar equipment keeps brunch items fresh and delicious for every resident. “We are always looking for ways to make dining special,” Celia said. “We want every meal to be a wonderful experience.”

Resident Stan Smith said residents enjoy the buffet style brunch. “Brunch is a favorite meal for a lot of people where you can mix breakfast items with luncheon items. It’s a very popular event here,” Stan said.

Although each residence offers a modern and fully-equipped kitchen, the dining experience at The Summit is, by far, one of the most attractive amenities.

The gorgeous dining room, which features wonderful views of the campus and lake, is the center of activity each day.

Meriwether Godsey, a leading, local culinary company, provides a rotational menu prepared exclusively by Chef Julian and his staff. Meriwether Godsey also ensures the food is not only delicious, but healthy and nutritious.
