The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Virginia
The Summit was created in partnership with The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Virginia–one of the largest faith groups founded on American soil, and a group that reflects the spirit and character that inspires our community. In fact, the concept for The Summit was modeled after four Continuing Care Retirement Communities operated by The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Virginia. Jamerson Family YMCA
The extraordinary Jamerson Family YMCA is only a short five-minute walk away when you live at The Summit. This state-of-the-art facility houses two swimming pools, a whirlpool, saunas, indoor and outdoor walking tracks, five locker rooms, an older adults and teen center, and much more. The Y also houses Centra's Healthy Living Center, which provides clinical exercise, physical and massage therapy, rehabilitation, and lifestyle management programs. Since 1986, Meriwether-Godsey has been customizing programs for a variety of clients in settings where you might not expect to find such culinary excellence, like schools, youth facilities, and residential dining programs. Each program specializes in atmosphere, serving restaurant-style food with a flair, and hiring dedicated staff. The customized dining program created for Summit residents was designed in part through personal interviews with future residents resulting in menu choices that are tailored to our residents' personal preferences. Plus residents can feel confident knowing that Meriwether-Godsey has an on-staff Registered Dietitian looking out for their nutritional needs.
