Friday, December 23, 2016

On Thursday evening The Summit was honored to host a concert performance by Terra Voce. The festive evening began at 7 p.m. with a Mulled Wine Social catered by Meriwether-Godsey in the Community Room. The concert began at 7:30 p.m. where attendees had the opportunity to enjoy holiday music from around the world. The stage was framed by the beautiful Summit Christmas tree; a memorable night just in time for Christmas.

Terra Voce is known for lively and creative programs combining the diverse and the unexpected. In addition to numerous performances on college campuses and community concert series, Terra Voce have appeared on the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center and New York’s Riverside Church.

Flutist Elizabeth Brightbill and cellist Andrew Gabbert are married and live in Crozet, VA. Elizabeth teaches at Longwood University, Eastern Mennonite University and Bridgewater while Andrew teaches here locally at Lynchburg and Randolph Colleges. Tonight’s concert has been partially sponsored by a touring grant from the Virginia Commission for the Arts.
