About The Summit
Peace of Mind, Security, Continuing Care Community, Freedom
This is what you’ll find at The Summit. Sure, you’ll love the lakeside garden homes in 3 floor plans overlooking the 8½-acre lake, but you’ll discover more than bricks and mortar on this campus. Perhaps you prefer one of the 7 spacious apartments, but there’s so much more here than real estate. This is different. This is a lifestyle with all its activities and amenities.
In fact, this retirement community was different from the very beginning. The Summit is a partnership between Centra Health (recognized as one of the nation’s top 100 cardiology hospitals in the USA) and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Virginia. Centra Health and the Disciples of Christ have combined excellence in health care with a clear mission you will find dependable and refreshing in Independent Living.
This is a Continuing Care Retirement Community, offering a continuum of care conveniently on one campus, should you ever need it. The 120 bed Summit Health and Rehabilitation Center includes skilled nursing care. The Summit Assisted Living includes 43 private apartments.
The 143-acre campus features an 8½-acre lake complete with walking trails, benches, gazebo and dock. A canoe is available if you’re adventurous, or you can simple enjoy the beauty of nature. One resident has catalogued over 200 species of birds on campus.
You will find The Summit located in the heart of Wyndhurst, a new Traditional Neighborhood Development. Walk across the street for ice cream or a cup of coffee. Boutiques, spas, restaurants, gift shops, professional offices and services, and much more await you and your friends.
If you prefer, you can stay home and stay active. Check out the “Life at The Summit” page for more.
You see, at The Summit, you’ll find people who understand the mission:
providing an environment for each resident to be
“Engaged in Life.”
